Big Launch in Trondheim, Norway this summer!

Through the case study in Trondheim where The Norwegian Centre for Traditional Music and Dance, Rockheim and Ringve have facilitated meetings and creative sessions with the dance community of traditional dance and swing dance the last year, we have got valuable insight in their dreams and wishes for the dancing future of Trondheim’s intergenerational dance events.

To use institutions as permanent meeting places for dance in the future, it is certain that a good wooden dance floor is helpful! Therefore, we invested in a large, mobile dance floor, that is easy to build and transport, to be used by all of Trondheim’s dance community.

The community also wanted a shared online calendar to keep track of and advertise their activities and dance parties to raise awareness, promote, and recruit new members to their group.

This was implemented by the organisation Dansheim, who now hosts the calendar on their website. The whole dance community in Trondheim and Trøndelag region is now able to use the calendar at www.dansheim.no.

Very soon the people of Trondheim will be able to see a sneak peak of the project’s exhibition Dance - Europe´s living heritage in motion, which will open permanently in October at Rockheim.

The exhibition has already opened in Scentendre, Skanzen, Budapest, Hungary.
